Повествуя нам о так называемых истоков "темных веков" британского острова, имевших место ориентировочно за 150 лет до событий Brytenwalda, данная модификация предлагает нам окунуться в смесь истории и "легкого фентези". Римская империя уже давно оставила свои попытки вернуть альбион под свой контроль, но перед британцами маячит новая угроза: орды решительно настроенных саксов. Те события, которые в итоге приведут к образованию англо-сакского государства, в Age of Arthur предлагают несколько иную точку зрения. В то же время, автор не забыл и об истории: нас ждет свыше 45 достоверно воспроизведенных фракций, поделенных между 11 различными культурами (каждая со своей стилистикой), множество переработанных сцен, 150 лордов и полную, как утверждает сам автор, переработку всего и вся. Что касается игровых возможностей, то в их списке строительство кораблей и морские сражения, доработанные формации, сменяющиеся времена года, постройка и улучшение фортов и деревень, охота и рыбалка, уникальные квесты, банки, землевладение, шахты, религия и немного магии. Кроме того, в мод включено множество решений из "Дипломатия", в том числе и система управления государством. Ну а вишенкой на торте является возможность убивать лордов... правда, в этом случае ждите автоматического появления наследника с миссией отомстить вам.

New Features:
Added a Levy system for both player kingdoms and AI, you can now call the Kingdom Levy if at war.
You can now start the game as a ruler of a major faction and chose from over 30+ of the starting kingdoms to be your faction.
Tweaked battle codes a bit, should be a little less choppy during large battles now. (You should still keep setting under 300 max on field though).
Added two new invasions, one for mid game around 520ad and another for late game around 550ad.
Added two new invasion factions, the Iclingas (founders of Mercia), and the Angle Bernician's (founders of Northumbria).
Added ability to change time progression in mod settings, you can now set each month equals one season, so 4 months per game year and thus speeding up time for children and invasions'.
Levys, patrols and mercs can now join player in battles if close by.
Tweaked diplomacy code a bit, factions will offer more treaties with friends.
Female players ruling a kingdom can now start courting and possibly marry a faction leader's son even if in a different faction, once married if their husband's father dies and husband was main

Your minister will now randomly ask if you want another crown made if you are a ruler and lost it somewhere (sold or captured by enemy) - (5000 coins)
Game now keeps track of leader names so if an heir takes over a faction with the same name as a past ruler they will have the appropriate roman numeral added after their name, eg. Arthur II,
Arthur III etc. (currently only works for NPC factions and only applies to faction rulers)
Gewissae will now change their name to Wessex at the appropriate time in history.

New Stuff:
New Stress System
Added a new stress system, from now on making decisions that doesn't align with your current honor rating or personality can cause stress, gain too much stress and you will suffer a mental break
New Lunatic events for those suffering high stress
Mental Breaks force the player to chose an activity to lower stress, but at a cost
Kingdom Partition Laws
Added kingdom partition laws and rules. From now on a kingdom can be divided if there is more then one possible heir and thus creating entirely new factions. partition laws can be changed later in game, but needs a vote from vassals
The new partition system should help make game longer and fix any possible steam rolling, it also adds more strategy for player as they need to consider the downside of having too many heirs.
NPC minor lord sons / brothers now automatically inherit a lord's lands upon death.
NPC Ruler Daughters have been moved up a little in inheritance they now come after sons and brothers, but before half brothers when deciding kingdom rulership (except for Gwenyyd who allows female succession before brothers).
Newly inherited now get their fathers crown as their helmet.
Over 200 New Dynamic Events
Added over 200 'Crusader King' style dynamic events!
Created a newscript that will fire one every few weeks or so with over a dozen topics ranging from health events, to marriage events, to children etc.
New child and Guardian events that shape how your child grows up. Your parenting choices now effecting the kind of adults they will be.
Added Plague of Justinian in late game
Nicknames
Added possibility of faction leaders (including player) of gaining a nickname (eg. The Wise, The Just, The Unready), over 12 nicknames in all, and each with there own hidden requirements
Nicknames are assessed every 160 to 365 game days and will be added to leaders names if they meet requirements
If adding roman numeral (or nickname) to leader names, their family name will now be removed.

Added Birthdays, every NPC lord and children now have birthdays, they will age at different times in the year based on this. (no more everyone aging the same time at end of year)
Streamlined the torturing process, from now on your extortion demands can be made right after torturing from the same dialog window, no more having to close out torturer box and go talk to
the prisoner.
NPC love interests have been made more dynamic and can now be set by meeting ladies at feasts
Town merchants will now always have at least a few of the items made by your towns enterprise if you own one there
You can now ask your spouse (or lords if you're their faction ruler) to convert if their religion doesn't match players
Tavern keepers and other NPC's (merchants etc) will now age / change appearance in later game
NPC lords can now start going bald over age 50
NPC children growing into young adults should no longer start as balding
Tripled number of possible NPC children and doubled birth rates.
Added more experience gains for NPC parties, should help with lords having mostly low tier troops in later game
Chickens have been added to center scenes
If you're a ruler and a lord from your kingdom dies in battle you now have the option of paying for their funeral
Added option to send an assassins' directly from minister, (you still need to have assassins' in your party, have met the lord you want to kill, and the lord has to be within 100km of where you are)
Player can now throw captive kingdom ladies into dungeons
Very dishonorable players can force marriage with captured kingdom ladies
NPC kingdom levies will now disband if no longer at war with anyone

Fix for battle lag!
That's right, now those who have suffered from lag have some new options to turn off the advanced battle AI via the camp options page. This will unfortunately return battles to native, but for those experiencing really bad lag - at least they are playable now.
AI Update
Added a number of AI kingdom decisions that add more depth and challenge for the player.
AI Kings/Queens will now make these decisions based on their personalities and current kingdom needs.
These include...investing in industry, increasing farmland, building buildings in their settlements (just like the player), hiring merc companies, raising more armies, and much more.
The king will now also have a slight more prominent role in planning / influencing strategy and marshal decisions.
One thing that bugged me about native was the lack of kingdom management options for the AI, and the fact that kings did very little one way or another to improve their kingdoms. This AI update will help address this.
Although this is a fairly big update, most of the changes dealing with AI will be somewhat hidden from the player. You will however notice a more challenging game as kingdoms are now harder to conquer and overall smarter at finding ways to beat you. Now even a weaker Kingdom can grow into a serious threat with the right ruler.
