Excellent analysis of Gloria Sinica Han Xiongnu Wars. Very professional and quite complete.

I would like to share my own analysis based on my personal experience about this great game. Maybe I can provide some details that serve as a complement and I hope that Google does not play with my words, since it is a translation from Spanish to English.

When we play a great mod, it is inevitable to compare it with the experience provided by the game itself. If we keep comparing other mods, we end up establishing categories and discover that few can be considered masterpieces. Among the masterpieces made for Warband we have Perisno, East1135, Gekokujo, A World of Ice and Fire, Warsword Conquest, Ad 1257 and maybe 6 other mods. Aside from these masterpieces, the rest of the mods provide interesting details, but in many cases, they fall short of being considered great.

As it could not be less, in Han Xiongnu Wars it is impossible to avoid comparisons with the best mods, among them, those mentioned above. As soon as you enter and once you have tried the sanbox mode, you notice the unique qualities that distinguish it from the rest. Aside from its graphic appearance, by the way, quite careful for a Warband, the first thing that catches your attention is the enormous number of options and features incorporated in this title, all of them welcome to set precedents in future generations of mods.

Its strengths are accurately expressed in the artistic quality of the scenarios, the animations within the battle, the depth in the military career, very realistic in terms of hierarchy and progression, the defined artificial intelligence, with enemies using tactics and formations in battle depending on the situation, historical and geographical accuracy, the history itself and the enormous number of warring factions, the difficulty, the creation and customization of unique units, with the option of building your companies from scratch, simply ordering the weapons and armor to your own troops, crafting, construction, and in short, the mechanism of all of this mixed and optimized wisely. This set of options leaves a pleasant experience, especially since it is, I repeat, a completely unknown game.

In short, after having tried and played the best mods for Warband and only after having played a few hours of Han Xiongnu Wars, this title surpasses the best sensations obtained with the great mods.

In Han Xiongnu Wars the same battle played with different tactics offers a completely different result. So for example, if you fight the Mongol tribes, you will have to face the chaos of a battle in which they may completely surround you and may decide to make frontal cavalry charges with orderly retreats in preparation for a new charge. If during the deployment process you have not adequately prepared your formations, you will be defeated even by an army inferior in number. In short, the same battle can give you a great victory, or a great defeat depending on your actions and decisions.

The highlight of this title is cooked over low heat, since the player's progression is long and costly until forging your own kingdom. While you try to found your own faction, the development of your forces is determined by the set of units that you can incorporate into your ranks, to which are added heroes forged in the main story and characters promoted by their own merits in the battles. This aspect, common in other mods, has been transferred with special attention in Han Xiongnu Wars. Of course, as in almost all mods, a part of your traveling companions will join your army when you discover them in the cities, while maintaining the classic recruitment system for common troops in cities and taverns. Before you realize it, many hours will have passed to create an army to face the enemy's elite units and perhaps when you think you are prepared for the good, you will know that you are never prepared enough to fight without suffering great losses. That's the part you should always keep in mind, if you don't want to rebuild your army from scratch after each battle. In Han Xiongnu Wars a large army is never enough to rest assured.

Han Xiongnu Wars is undoubtedly a very polished and detailed work for all those looking for a deep experience in a concept that has ceased to be a mod, to become a great independent game. Han Xiongnu Wars has shown how it should have been historically in the Warband itself. Furthermore, Bannerlord is using many features previously incorporated in Han Xiongnu Wars. I'm sure the Bannerlord guys haven't told you that part of the story.

It is possible that some elements that are distinguished in other mods are missing, such as courtship, but the only negative point in this analysis is that unlike the mods mentioned above, Han Xiongnu Wars is not free, since behind of this work, there is a company that has purchased the license. The good thing is that the sale price is 3 euros on sale, ridiculously cheap and affordable for all budgets, right? Be careful, don't be fooled by its price, since the game could well cost more than Warband itself.

This is a submod that changes the graphical appearance of Anno Domini 1257, replacing all the menus and all the textures of the campaign map, and of course, adding a multitude of high-quality weapons and armor, replacing the faces, hairstyles and bodies of characters, add women as followers and review the visual appearance of the rest of the male companions to give them a more attractive touch. In short, Anno Domini 1257 Plus changes practically everything related to the visual aspect without touching any mechanics of the main mod and in any case corrects minor errors.

First of all, I would like to thank the original authors of the weapons and armor collected in this collection. Thanks to them, Anno Domini 1257 seems more alive and beautiful than ever.
