As Promised, here is the Q & A for strategus. We were able to get a hold of chadz and forward the good questions for him to answer. Thank you all for submitting your questions, and thank you chadz for taking the time to answer as many as you could.
PS. There was also supposed to be a Q & A about item balance, however most of you sent your questions about strategus so there wasn't enough to have one about item balance.
Strategus Q & A with Chadz the Austrian
Question #1
How time consuming is it to work on strategus? Its been a couple months since the old beta went down, are you guys understaffed or just really trying to get what you want polished?
Answer:
Some people have a wrong picture of how we're working on it. Don't imagine it like we're coding 2 hours a day, every day. It is actually very different - when we're working on it, we're coding on it nearly all day for several days. What we need isn't more people, we need more free blocks of time, and those are very hard to get, as we all have studying or work to do. But when we have time, you can see new features getting coded every hour.

The old strategus looked a little simple on the website. There was someone who made an add-on to make it look better. Will you be adopting the add-on or will you/have you be creating your own?
Answer:
The one that did the add-on is Harald, who is member of our team - he is actually the one that designed and coded the new cRPG website almost alone, and will definitely have a big influence on the new strategus.

There is a rumor, spread by the big man I believe that the old strategus is coming back online first? Is that true? And if so will there be a troop/gear/gold wipe that was promised with that or do we continue where we left off?

How will C-RPG gold and strategus gold transfer, if at all? Will there be a sufficient gold sync in strategus to make gold maintain value?
Answer:
Gold will have an interesting role in strategus - you can (probably) neither earn nor spend it in strategus, apart from other players. It will probably (to some extent) be lootable by other players. You can transfer it freely forward and back, although there will probably be a time delay to stop abusing the feature. Maybe you also have to be in a fief. That's not yet decided.

Will you be able to customize faction ranks, like edit permissions for each rank and or change the name of the rank?
Answer:
Probably.

If strategus ever comes back, would it be possible to ever make it so you could change the name of your fief?
Answer:
No. Check forum for reasons.

Will we be able to see a checklist of sorts on what needs to be done before strategus(New or Old) Comes out:
Answer:

Will we see automated trade caravans, rather than a string of players that toss stuff to one another like some kind of pre-industrial fire brigade?
Answer:
Unless some other dev is very convincing, no. The idea is that not everyone is born as a hero in strategus, most have to do the dirty work. Firebrigades will be made impossible, of course, because that's not how it's supposed to work.

I would like to know if we will be able to do things in the castles we posses, like hanging and having meetings, customizing and such.
Answer:
I like the ideas, but first things first. It is not planned currently.

When will the new strategus come out?
Answer:
December 2010.
