Насколько я понял логику этого квеста при переводе, дело тут обстоит так.
1) Сначала в какой-то форме получаем такое сообщение:
You were tasked to hunt down the bandits that have been recently wreaking havoc in the North. You can either attack them in their hideout near Mirkwood Forest or intercept them near Beorn's House.
Т.е. тут вроде как выбор в каком направлении начать копать: либо в районе Беорнингов, либо где-то в Темнолесье.
2) Есть вариант сообщения о разгроме игроком собственно главарей Охотников и получении игроком волшебного кольца:
You must return and report back that you have defeated the Ring Hunter leaders and have taken a magical ring.
А есть вариант о разгроме основного отряда Охотников, но упущении главарей:
You must return and report back that you have defeated the Ring Hunter party, but the leaders may have acquired what they were looking for.
Вот ещё кусок диалога, где говорится о двух группах этих охотников:
Excellent. The North has recently been plagued by a marauding band of outlaws, who raid villages and ambush travellers searching for rings of any kind You are to hunt these bandits down and put an end to their quest. Survivors of their last pillaging have reported two groups. One with their loot moving towards Mirkwood Forest. The other, a considerable size, towards Beorn's House, perhaps to continue their destructive search.
Видимо, ты выловил тех, что пошли к Дому Беорна, а стоило взяться за тех, что попёрлись в Темнолесье.
